  Brought to my place by someone else. On the nose, this is clearly gone - very oxidized. Off-dry to sweet on the palate, but not unctuous. Actually relatively pleasant if you imagine it's supposed to taste like this. I'd be curious to try it in its prime. On inspection of the bottle, I see the words "Date of Bottling: 23.11.07" - 6 years old. I imagine this was sitting upright in a store under bright lights for the last 4-5 years.

  My first time with one of these.
  
  A pretty dark golden hay color, crystal clear. Thick and viscous on the glass.
  
  Intense nose of flowers, sweet lychees, guineps, very tropical, with aromas of both ripe and unripe pears, as well as Seville orange rinds or marmalade.
  
  Quite delicious - clearly a dessert wine, very sweet and syrupy, but with wonderful texture and fruit flavours. Just a little acid, perhaps a bit more would have helped the palate some, but I'm not familiar enough with these to judge.
  
  All in all I'm very impressed with this wine. I would certainly rate it a 90 for enjoyment, but perhaps not qualified due to not having a baseline for this style. I sense a very, very slight marmalade aftertaste on the finish after a while - almost undetectable. The finish is pretty long and satisfying.
  
  I would have been happy to have this with dessert with good friends, and not felt the slightest bit guilty. Probably the only reason I'm uncertain about my score is because of my inexperience with this varietal. Was very enjoyable.
