Nose: Beautiful deep fruited nose of blackberry, blueberry,, ganache and bits of cedar. Needed time to open as it was a touch reductive when first popped. Drcanted 45 minutes. Palate: Completely resolved with nice black cherry, chocolate, irony soil and some nice blue fruit notes. Good complexity and a silky feel. Finish: minerals, earth, blackberry, raspberry and spice box.
Went great with peppercorn crusted NY Strips and some typical steakhouse sides. A nice Stags Leap cab that has a distinct personality that splits the difference between an HSS and a SLV. This was the first vintage Benoit worked with Andy Erikson on at Hartwell and I was curious to try it to see how his approach to the site developed over time.
Neat look at the transition period for this property.

Acquired 2 bottles from winery upon final liquidation of their inventory. Enjoyed with my wife, Julie, for her birthday at Echo & Rig, Sacramento. Very silky and smooth, however the tannin is gone so drink em if you got em.

In such a great place with the age coming through on the color and elegance on the palate. From 1.5

Drank beautifully!!! Went great with our coffee rubbed rib-eye. Shared with Paul and Dean. Scotty drank it out of a martini glass. (!!!)
