White apple and vanilla notes on the nose. Close to medium bodied with mixed, white orchard fruits upfront. Shows touches of brighter, slightly more tart notes to provide upfront contrast. The mid-body showcases white orchard fruits, but without clear definition at this young stage. Citrus notes and acidity provide the structure through the back and finish. This is my first chardonnay from this vineyard site and while it was a touch lighter than I expected and didn't have the expressiveness of some of the best Chanin chardonnays, it's still young and has the elements to improve. Next bottle for me will be June or July 2024.
