Decanted. Pear, citrus, vanilla, yellow fruit, peach, apricot, mineral. Light reduction, impactful, structured. Liking it more than the other cuvée and surprisingly pairing super well with the Nordic-style menu. 92-93

This is a burgundian take on sauv blanc, but it's still clearly not burgundy to me. There are unique tropical flavors that I've never gotten from any white burg. It's quite young and definitely opens up with air. Sneaky depth on the palate, that I think needs time to blossom. Lacking a little tension for my palate but a solid wine overall.

Rich and delicious and complex, more like a bourgogne than a sauvignon blanc (Granted, I haven't had much sauvignon blanc from the great producers). A little alcohol come through once the temp warmed up, but the flavors of white stonefruit, guava more than made up for it.

This bottle was really fun. It has many of the textbook notes of Sancerre, but it has fresh acidity and still manages to come across softly on the palate. I hesitate to make comparisons with Vatan, but it’s closer to that than Cotat, in my opinion. If I had one gripe, it is that the alcohol was a bit disjointed. Perhaps that is a feature that age will ameliorate. I am eager to explore these wines in time. Thanks Thatcher and Courtney!
