Part of an all-Grenache night with my wine group. Opened, but not decanted for about 90 minutes before pouring. I was disappointed in this one. Very light bodied, with a subdued flavor profile. Easily the group's least favorite of the night. To be fair, it may have suffered from being the last wine of the night, as it was lighter than all the other wines.

This is a wonderful grenache - about as good a domestic grenache as I've ever had. Very typical black-cherry-jam fruit - it screams grenache - but under 14% abv and only medium bodied. It has a nice hit of tannin: this is no weird bubblegum natty/carbonic wine, it's real traditionally made grenache, but somehow didn't get silly ripe. Makes you wonder what this would've tasted like with a soupcon of Mataro; as it is, its better than many of the 'name' CdPs.

Was hoping for more here given the producer is one of my faves, and Grenache is my favorite grape. Perhaps some time in bottle will round things out.
