A treat, I was surprised how well this bottle was doing. (Purchased recently thru Chambers Street Wines- thx guys!). Decanted 8 hours (try this with the older Barolo; a must). Probably 1/2" of sediment in the bottle. Wine was smooth as can be. But color still fairly ruby, albeit with plenty of light orange, and seemed to darken with time. And light, Burgundian. Nose a bit barnyard, with plum and maybe an underlying camphor note. A bit of prune on the palate, but still lots of dark berry, and the flavors lingered for 30 seconds. Was SO good with some grilled hangar steak. Not "old" but drink up. 92/93...higher if rewarding longevity.

Initially thought this was a done deal. Let it sit for one hour and it really opened to how the typical tar and roses. Great acid and firm tannins say give it more time, but i like it ahh...lot.
