  • 1/12. EYE: darker than the 2019, but still pale, magenta/crimson.
NOSE: aromas are mute at first; or is it subtle? Very reluctantly, over an hour of aeration, a stirring image emerges—mouthwatering cracked earth yields truffle and violet diluted in a passive breeze.
MOUTH: bold and bright action, saturated with flavor—sheer intonations of bing cherry, raspberry, and framboise; white prune; bitter basil stem. Acidity substantiates the structure, a core of irrigated stone. Vain objectivity might score this only 90. I like it too much for that. Such revitalizing sincerity. Also, this wine will keep well, and probably accomplish something more in the 2025-2030 range. 91+

24 hours later, resealed tabletop, nothing gained. It's an an increment more worn and softer in texture. 90
