  Drunk over dinner hence short note.
  Plenty of colour here, just a little bricking at the rim.
  On the nose it's initially dirty and a little sour but after decanting it really opened up with tobacco, spices and walnuts. Tannin are still quite firm, there's plenty of body here. There's some dark cherry fruit but it's mainly savoury, dry and structured - a little austere in fact. I don't think this is going to get much better but also I don't think there's any hurry to drink. It held up well in the glass and didn't fall apart. I wonder how it would have progressed if we let it air for longer.
