Ruby colored appearance, a nose of dark cherry and oak. Needed at least an hour in the decanter to reveal appreciable fruit on the mid-palate, yet it was still unbalanced and confused due to the strong tannins, and the finish was very astringent. Didn't improve after another 3 hours; appears the wine may never fully integrate.

Dark inky black purple color - dense full bodied and chewy; initially tart cherry quickly burns off and gives way to black berry, tar, spicy cedar, hints of tobacco, white pepper, anise, charcoal and smoke on a slightly 'hot' lingering moderate tannin oaky berry finish. Slightly obtuse and lacking polish but a great value at $12.99 for high QPR - Quality to Price Ratio.

Lighter berry, jam, dark berry aromas, not real open. Medium body, round, some tart, rounds out quickly, medium finish, not a lot of tannin to the structure, easy to drink, not real complex.

Not a good bottle, over developed & past due - unfortunately this one wasn't stored well - hopefully the next one is better.
