this wine really needs time and air to open up. For the 1st 2 days it was rough and bitterly astringent even after using an Aervana to aerate it. However, after the 3rd day it opened up and was entirely different, becoming complex, layered and rich.

A WTSO special. I am especially keen on value priced rioja reservas. These under $25 reservas will typically over deliver on quality. This one is excellent.
Color. Dark red with a purple rim.
Nose. Cherry, tea leaves, cocoa, earth. Medium strength in the nose and absolutely no alcohol burn. Very impressive.
Palate. Smooth.... cherries and kirsch and cocoa. Grippy tannins but not over done. Decent acidity too. Just a delicious wine. The finish is less than 20 seconds.

Fantastic Rioja. Bright and tart. Ripe cherry, cinnamon, and cocoa. Had some vanilla…herbaceous. Chewy yet smooth with a decent finish.

This wine has come into it’s own nicely with a little more age. Notes of vanilla and lightly toasted oak.
