  • Nice to have the tannins in there, and the muscat comes through. But so does the farmyard/drains.

    According to the producer, this is a blend of gros manseng, ugni blanc & muscat d'Alexandrie. Three months of maceration in stainless steel tanks. Six months of ageing in a combination of stainless steel tanks, oak barrels and foudres. I saw no indication of a vintage on my bottle but I was told that this is a 2021...
    To date Fabien's wines have yet to disappoint me. Even his so-called "vins de soif" like this one are fascinating and incredibly enjoyable to taste. This is perfect for an apéro on a super hot day (like today!) but it could absolutely hold its own paired with food.

    Development: developing

    PALATE:
    Sweetness: dry

    Alcohol: medium
    Body: medium
    Intensity: medium (+)
    Flavors: kumquat, bitter orange, lemon zest, under-ripe peach, rose, hints of white pepper and salt
    Finish: long

    CONCLUSIONS:
    Quality level: very good
    Potential for ageing: can drink now, but has good potential for some further ageing
    Other observations: slightly cloudy
