Previous bottles of this were a simpler, lighter version of the Ribbon Ridge. This bottle was past it's window. Faded color. Earthiness and some fruit on the nose. Very, very sour cherry and tart. Drinkable, but not very enjoyable.

Aroma of cloves. Full bodied palate of red currants, licorice. A bit of tingle in the lingering licorice finish. Very New World, but not overblown. Good balance, good structure, a lot to like. My heart still belongs to Burgundy, but my wallet really likes this at $18.

Light color and body, steely and mineral with a slight cranberry tartness. Enjoyed with salmon with a horseradish and mustard sauce.

Got a little more orange and tarragon/licorice this time. Great wine for the $!
