  • Once again, a great wine that's really easy to drink, and a screaming deal from Last Bottle. Sorry I wasn't familiar with this property when they were operational.

  • First bottle never opened up, so was hesitant popping this one. Initial nose is umami, soy sauce, mushroom, leather, pine forest, and some hints of dark fruit. Palate is prune and raisin, with undercurrent of blueberries and bramble.

20-30 minutes in the decanter, the prune has blown off, and vanilla and baking spice hints emerged to compliment blue fruit. Evolved into an intriguing bottle of mountain fruit.

  • It's been about two hours since I pulled the cork; did not decant this. Forest floor, smoke, pipe tobacco on the nose. Nicely balanced with super dark black fruit dominating, and plenty of tannins with a slightly sweet edge to their finish.

This is the most enjoyable of the four bottles I've had thus far, and l suspect they're in the heart of their drinking window; Great right now, this can easily last through 2028. I suspect I'll drink my remaining bottles in 2-3 years Has some of my earlier bottles have not been as solid as this

  • The wine looks violet colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like strawberry, raspberry, red currant and violet. The body is light/medium. The wine has narrow texture. The wine finishes short. The wine has low acidity.

The wine was flawed. The initial taste had a distinctly negative aftertaste.

  • My last tasting note expressed regret for not having grabbed more of these, but thankfully Last Bottle gave me the opportunity to grab four more.

After 30 mins in the glass there's a slight hint of prune on the nose, but it's overpowered by old wine barrel. Fine grained tannins are still overpowering and muting the dark fruit that're in the background, with a long finish concentrated front to mid palate.

After an hour the prune has largely blown off and the wine is beginning to soften and open up, though flavors are still concentrated front palate.

After 3 hrs the tannins still have a prominent stance but black fruit is emerging and overall balance is really improving. Don't hesitate to give us a decant of 3+ hours, and if I can hold myself back ill drink my three remaining bottles through 2028. Raise my rating to 93, and raise a glass the the Engel family and Bob Foley
