  • In the old days, when it came to having a perfect wine for asparagus, there was always Keller's ''Grüner Silvaner''. Affordable, around 7.80 euros, and always a perfect match for that. Somehow my contact with Keller has completely broken off in the last few years and this Grüner Silvaner from Wagner Stempel is a viable and imo even a superior alternative!

PnP, screw cap, 12% Alc., yellow color.

Nose: Reduction, a bit of yellow fruit, good freshness.

Palate: Clear and taut, a bit of green vinho verde, a bit of reduction, delicate yellow fruit, nice ripe acidity with bite, harmonious. But most important, a perfect match to asparagus! Price at around 12 euros.
