Not much to write about here....not good and not bad. A typical merlot blend from Bordeaux that for my income level was not worth the money, but for others it may have been in line with the price point. Closed and tight with a short finish.

Deep ruby core, narrow pale ruby rim. Bright, fresh nose with red and blueberry fruit, vanilla, spice, lead pencil notes and a slight espresso edge. Medium/full bodied, quite rich and generous on the mid-palate with red and bilberry fruit, touch of gravelly minerality, lovely bright fresh contrasting acidity carries a good length finish, where some chunky tannins do detract a little. Nevertheless a good, satisfying drink and v.g value at £7.50. Not sure it has the depth of fruit or ripeness of tannin to age long-term but should be fine for a couple more years.

This is coming into its own: nice, hearty, basic Bordeaux with appealing cinnamon and spice on the nose.

I also had a slightly bitter after taste. I'll see what it tastes like this evening.

Very young still, wait several more years. Will taste like a decent margaux in about 4 years.
