Cork in good shape with a run halfway up. Initial nose of dark fruit, maybe some tobacco, not much Bordeaux funk or cedar etc. Fruit is still ripe, red cherry and red currant mostly. Even more expressive after 30 hours open with a noticeable but subtle tingly finish that lasts several minutes. Excellent with a grilled rib eye topped with a creamy gravy of Dijon mustard, rosemary and shallots. Also matched well with the pancetta and mushroom risotto side dish. I bought this wine on a whim several years past because it claimed to have won a Medalle d'Or at a Paris competition in 2007. Good stuff, fully mature drink it up.

Very good value wine, a high quality quaffer, that shows substantial character, as indicated by some previous tasting notes. Colour: brick red, garnret Bouquet: red currant, vanilla, tobacco Palate: spice, white pepper, plum fruit, savoury astringent. A little light, but flavoursome and clean. May 2014.

I was one of the many who purchased a case of this wine many years ago, after reading the many flattering expert reviews. And while I have to admit that I feel this wine has underperformed in the past, I really do think that this wine is drinking at its best ever. There is a deep core of dark fruit, complimented by tobacco. Structurally this wine remain vibrant with chalky tannins for days. It is not the best '05 Bordeaux I've had but for $10 (or whatever I paid for it) it really is a fantastic wine.

Light, thin, pale garnet colour and not very concentrated aromas. Red fruit nose with very light hint of earth or dust. The flavours are equally thin and are of red fruit like cherry and red currents but not unpleasant and it has some depth in the finish. Just not particularly complex and not elegant either. A good quaffer but not outstanding.

Agree with previous note. Opened based on that note and seems to be singing now.
