At almost 20 years, still a dark fruit, sweet tannins and rich savory bottle of wine. On the nose its almost sweet. I think I have written all of the reviews on this wine. Shame - it would be nice to get another perspective.....

Savory, rich, dark and deep, this bottle was very satisfying. Surprised not more have commented over the years, I guess I was the only one with foresight to cellar this gem.
Drinking very nicely.

I'm a little betwixt and between on this one today. On the one hand, its smooth, rich, savory, nuanced. On the other, it could do with more acids and borders on soft, flabby and dull. Huh?? Its turning a little too old Rhone like for my tastes at the moment, but since all the reviews are from me over the years, I guess I'll decide at the next bottle opening in another few years.

Fruit still hanging around, this savory, balanced, mineral wine is a nice mature example of drinking the wine, not the label. Last tasted in 2011, with a little more age it hasn't lost a beat. Very popular around the table.
Maybe even better the next day.
I understand that in 2007 the estate was split between his two sons so we can only hope they have learned from the old man......

Not at all what I was expecting. Its deep dark, still brooding, with a strong savory element that runs throughout. Balanced but more leather and earthy flavors than typical Pinot/Burgundy fruit flavors. Hmm, is this just an off bottle or am I on to something new? This is the first bottle from the case that I have opened so lots more to try over the next few years to examine its further development. Still, it tastes nice, but (and you heard it here) it reminds me of a St. Joseph I had a while back and not a Burgundy at all.
