Talk about a phoenix rising from the ashes. The first half of the bottle (opened 90 minutes before service) was austere and lacking in charm. Them it emerged…adding weight, fruit and sophistication. In time, this will be great.

A 4+ hour decant did nothing to move this along. But who cares? Despite being tight and tannic, the gorgeous fruit, supreme balance and scintillating character made this an awesome match for roasted prosciutto-wrapped poussin with garlic and rosemary alongside cannelini beans and broccoli rabe. I hope I live long enough to experience the full glory of this Vino Nobile - Bravo!

Bitter dried herbs (think of Amaro or Underberg), black cherries, strawberries, tobacco and an intriguing mineral streak on the nose with just a hint of barnyard/soiled diaper. Flavors are consistent with the aromas, and this wine strikes just about a perfect balance between fruit and non fruit flavors. Overall, I'm impressed with how fine a line is straddled here. It finishes very bitter/mineral.
Medium + body, medium + acid, medium + lingering tannin. This drinks pretty well now, all things considered; but has a lot of life left in it and will become more interesting. Hold for 2-5 more years at least.
This bottle was much more open and accessible than the previous one. It's much too young, given the extraordinary future it will have, but that doesn't mean it can't be enjoyed.

From all the reviews it looks like this wine should not be drunk for a while
