This wine is drinking well right now and exemplifies the joys of basic Bourgogne rouge from a good producer in sound vintage. I noted subtle cool fruit and earth on the nose. The wine has a sappy mouth feel, picking up pleasant sour cherry, with a hint of saddle leather, forest floor and a hint of vanilla in balance with refreshing acidity. Unfortunately, this was my last bottle picked up at $20 from Woodland Hills wine co. I would seek this cuvee out from subsequent vintages.

CVTN: "This is th baby wine of the Giroud house in Burgundy. It has great fruit on the nose, with a good sense of terroir, and enough fruit and structure to improve with age, though it's drinking well now." $25

Good stuff. Opening up and tasting nice. Deft and not heavy or alcoholic/hot. Nice wine at a low price.

Fruity, mineral, leather, vanilla. Good acidity, fine tannins, medium body, very nice.

The Wines of Burgundy and Food from the Sea (CoolVines/Blue Point Grill) (Blue Point Grill, Princeton): Med- ruby in the glass. On the nose, a tone of pure cherry, but marred by sloppy, dirty flavors on the back end. In the mouth it has good acid, but uninspiring flavors and texture. Med- green tannins.
