  Expressive aromatics from the get go. Decanted and wine opened up over the next hour with respect to body. Medium finish

Imagine the zing of Sherry vinegar but without the belligerent taste. There were some modest notes of plum, vanilla, olive and an almost sanguine quality to it. It’s just odd. Maybe this indeed does have to age, but knowing it’s a plastic cork, I’m veering on the side of caution. We couldn’t finish the bottle, and this comes after we’ve religiously drank the Castelli-Knights Syrah bottling over the years. Maybe a different style of winemaking or maybe we’re late to the game? Not sure I’d seek out this producer again if most wines are like this.
