This bottling is a good place to start if you're a little out of touch with Tavel. Textbook medium ruby / blood orange colour in the glass. Notes of ripe strawberry, raspberry, cherry and warm spice all waft up on the inviting bouquet. At nearly 2 years of age its shed a little of the heat and chewiness that you can find with very youthful Tavel and opened nicely. Medium bodied, rich and loaded with sweet red fruits, black pepper, dried cranberry and a touch of garrigue through the medium, juicy finish. Not the most complex or structured Tavel from Guigal in recent years but another solid effort. Drink over the next year or so.

Great Rosé.
A bit fruity and light for a classic Tavel.

‘Tavel is not the story of Cotes de Provence, it’s not seasonal.
Majority is Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Mourvèdre, and a little Clairette.
Softer, but still bubblegum.
They had just purchased, Chateau Aqueria, most famous estate in Tavel.
