Somewhat cloudy, dark magenta color. Black cherry and blackberry aromas with just a hint of "gamy-ness", and a fleeting pine-sap note. On the palate, rich black fruits are still there, but the "gamy" flavor is more pronounced than it was in the nose, and there is just a little streak of acid that still shows through. Nice body and balance, good mid-palate, nice finish. I expect this to peak in another year or two.

This is showing more red dirt than the last bottle and thankfully lacks the roasted fruit quality that I found previously. Pure, with plump fruit. At this point I find that the 2007 BH Gamay is prettier, leaner, and more precise.

A 14% abv, certified biodynamic Gamay from the second warmest Willamette Valley vintage in recent memory, yet the healthy acidity balances the very ripe black fruits. Nice and lively on the attack, plush on the midpalate, but the finish has a slightly off-putting roasted/burnt quality.

Tasted this with 10 other wines so not the best notes. Everyone seemed to enjoy this bottle. Nice nose of violets and black cherry spice. On the palate I get mostly black and wild cherry with strawberry flavors giving way some nicely integrated tannins and a nice spicey tail. Larger style gamay than normal (medium to heavy medium), and it has a decent mouthfeel that I enjoyed. Nice bottle for a lighter style red.

Decent medium bodied gamay, but not much fruit here; one of my least favorite gamays from BH in a while; interesting to see if this develops
