Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • So I bought a cellar; 11/12/2022-12/31/2030: My beautiful wife is cooking boeuf Bourgogne for my birthday tonight. So I thought a fun, mature grand cru burgundy seemed the way to go. Good fill, and bottle looks in good shape. Opened with Durand, and the cork is in great shape, not as saturated as I expected. Nice transparent burgundy color (duh) with a good amount of bricking around the edges, and brownish tint. On the nose, musk, mushroom, and a bit of raspberry, maybe slight orange peel, but much more tertiary than primary. No decant, just letting breathe in the glass. Still good acidity and slight tannins. Leathery red fruit on the palate, a bit indistinguishable, maybe some cranberry, but definitely still some fruit there. Still in good shape. I assume this is the same Boisset family as in Napa, but I don’t know anything else about this bottle. No others in cellar tracker, and the only option in wine searcher is a 2017 in Paris for over $500 euros.
