  • A “nice”, uncomplicated Merlot-Cabernet-based Bordeaux. Ruby in color, with light aromas of cassis, some floral notes, and a hint of oak, this medium-to-light bodied wine has a palate dominated by cassis, with hints of oak, and smooth, fine grained, fairly light tannins. As another reviewer said, it’s is a good food wine, and a good QPR at $11.00. Drink now.

  • This a very decent, somewhat generic claret - for complicated reasons we drank it after it had been opened and then recorked 3 days prior. It has quite a nice balance of ripe fruit, a little acidity and enough quite smooth tannins that this is a food wine. It went down nicely with a midweek slightly spicy pizza. Overall somewhat generic and undistinctive, but not unpleasant.

This was a gift, but I believe it's ~US$12, at which price it's quite OK QPR.
