  Improving over time with air, some decent life ahead. Darker end of red & blue fruits that taste ripe with good freshness on the palate. Some violet, lavender, cedar, vanilla and a hint of barrel spice. Love the grippy tannin that result in a weighty all encompassing mouthfeel. Alcohol is a touch noticeable and the finish is more textural that flavorful, but a stellar bottle that I’m excited to try again with some more age.

  Really lovely wine. High toned red fruit, more delicate and approachable than I imagined it would be at this stage.

  A delightful wine, really beautiful expression of Sonoma Zinfandel. Kind of like an old hand polished piece of wood furniture. Classic, weighty and timeless.

  Powerful and ripe red and blue fruit notes on the nose, with some underlying orange peel, smoke, and earth. On the palate the wine is deep and pure, saturated with blackberry, blueberry, and plum notes, but has a freshness that keeps me going back for sip after sip. Fine-grained tannins and just the right amount of acidity provide a good frame to the wine and hide the alcohol well. Clearly its best years lie ahead, but it was fun opening a bottle in this early phase to check it out. Not a wall of austerity and alcoholic heat like I find some zinfandels this young.
