  • This is always a crazy good QPR. Not only a great value, but a great Wine too. Matt is amazingly still under the radar. Case buy... every year. top 5 value pinots in OR, imo

  • This wine is punching so far above is price it’s ridiculous. 12.5 abv is remarkable too. So much pure fruit here with raspberries, cranberries and cherries all present but a backbone filled with tea, mushroom and fall leaves here to bring complexity. Not a ton of structure, so I’m not sure it’ll age much past 5-6 years, but honestly there’s already so much development here that I don’t know I could keep my hands off these for more than a year anyhow. Really, really impressed with this wine and producer, which deserves some serious recognition here. Bravo.

  • An unexpected surprise. Drinking way above its price point. 12.5% ABV.

  • Delicious. I’m sad I didn’t buy more.

Appearance - clear, medium light ruby it “ looks” watery.

Nose - fresh, fragrant, youthful, red raspberry notes and oddly this wonderful kernel thing going on. Popcorn which starts to dominate the nose but is what makes it pair so wonderfully with rice. Toasty notes. Not something you often associate with Pinot Noir.

Palate - lovely. Fresh, youthful, medium plus, acidity is medium plus, body is medium. Tannins are medium but they only come out with the swish and after you swallow. Finish is medium. Notes are red fruits. Lots of raspberry. After you swallow you get some spice sizzle on your tongue. Alcohol is medium and well integrated.

Again, I should have ordered more to start. Would do a case. Will be on my radar going forward. Well done to the makers. For the price a very good quality wine.

  • PnP (unscrew and pour). Cherry, some pomegranate and cranberry, slight orange peel, pie spice. Medium Body, medium acidity, well integrated tannins, 12.5% alcohol according to the label. This is a perennial best value in OPN. It's a remarkably consistent value that always reflects the character of the vintage. I don't know how they do it, but they do. And they've done it for at least 30+ years. Great value at $22 full retail in a premium brand grocery store. Drink now and over the next 3-5 years.
