Stylistically very similar in approach to the N.258. Pale to medium, clear gold color. Balanced, very judicious application of oak. Fresh Meyer lemon, ripe red apple, crunchy melon, juicy yellow peach, light vanilla and cinnamon spice, all underscored with a notable streak of white, salty rock. Nicely integrated acidic backbone adds to the balance and sets up a long, satisfying finish. Enjoy with or without food. Drink through 2025+. Both this wine and N.258 exhibit a very high QPR.

I’d prefer a fresher, more fruit-focused style. Juicy green apple and pear play second fiddle here to a bed of moderately toasty sweet vanilla. The acidity is almost electric. There’s a little creaminess from the partial malo but I don’t like overly buttery Chardonnay - and this isn’t one. The finish keeps giving to about medium-plus length.
Edited December 2023: this has gotten better with a little more time in the bottle. The oak has integrated beautifully and just lingers in the background instead of taking over. It feels clean and fresh now. I’ve raised my rating by three points.

Really well-balanced fruit, acidity, touch of oak - nothing out of place. A nice wine I should have bought more of.
