Chapitre d'Automne de la St Hubert (Nicolas Restaurant, Keong Saik Street, Singapore): Light yellow gold colour. Nose was really tight, with chalky mineral and some Indian spice followed by lower toned, rather salty notes of loam, boiled cream and a little wafting smokiness along with just a little sweet, candied melon. Rather deep and intriguing, if just a tad unexpressive. The palate was clean and minerally. The savoury strain from the nose continued with some preserved sour plum and some indistinct white fruit. The palate somehow reminded me of eggs and butter. Rather Meursault like with the butter I guess. There was pretty nice acid which freshened the palate towards the back of the mouth and a decent, if slightly savoury finish. Not a bad wine which went pretty well with the food.
