  18 bought on release, somewhere around #6 consumed. Sound cork.
  Very 2020 wine with nearly over-ripe fruit - but just shy of that - as a characteristic of the vintage. By way of reference just had a 2020 Lafarge Volnay that suffers in the same way: the sophistication of the wine is mostly hidden by the ripe, yet balanced, but big fruit characteristic of the vintage. This wine with some air reveals sophistication, length, and other elements that are actually more visible with this bottle than some prior ones where the massive fruit hid the underlying structure more. Delicious. Certainly can be drunk with pleasure now but as the puppy fat fruit integrates it will have more interest for the aesthete as well as the gourmand.

  (18 bought on release; perhaps #6; perfect fill and sound cork} Masses of dense black red fruit, seductive, ridiculously attractive dense Pinot. This bottle (unlike earlier ones in primary phase) is now showing much more 1er level sophistication, structure, and soil. Touch of promising austerity on the finish.
  
  Prior bottles consistent but less complex than this one. Trajectory of this wine reminds me of the 85s, which were so ripe and delicious on release that I foolishly drank them too early. Not saying this vintage is another 1985, but this aspect is similar...

  Wine Society Burgundy Grower's Tasting: Seems I really don't get on with this Domaine. If the village wine was too richly extracted for me, this is yet another step up. Almost porty in its profile- very deep, rich and full. Blind I'd never call this a Burgundy. Way too much, and you've got to ask yourself what the point is...
