PnP. Don't know why this wine doesn't get any love. Pretty darn good for a $20 bottle. I think we're all expecting more since that other Duckhorn got wine of the year honors (BTW, that was NOT this wine). Lighter bodied than I expected and not terribly complex, but it's a solid, tasty drinker with or without food. Maybe an extra few years has done it some good.

Moderate violet with dark berries, yet bland. I'll agree with other reviewers in saying that it's simplistic and uninteresting, verging on average. The bottle even refers to itself as "everyday" on the back label! It was indeed a Decoy in the local 90+ Points/Under $20 section of the local supermarket.

Vacation Trip; 4/8/2015-4/29/2015 (Beverly Hills / Scottsdale, AZ): nose of raspberry, sweet merlot finish. All a bit simple and boring. It is a decent wine but I would rather put $20 more on the table and go for the Duckhorn or even better for the Matanzas Creek which costs less than $30.

Duckhorn tasting at Grand Union Wine Society. Good colour. Very good fruit. Complexity helped by the Cab Franc and Petit Verdot. Good balance with balancing acidity. Very nice but not competitively priced in UK.

(Decoy Merlot) Very dark ruby color; tart red currant, tart raspberry nose; tart red currant, very tart plum palate with medium acidity, a little thin mid-palate; medium finish (13.5% alcohol)

Much better than the last bottle. Smooth and integrated, dark fruits.
