  • A good nose, mainly citrus. Citrus (lime and lemon) with tropical flavours on the palate. Quite rich with an oily texture and subtle character from the oak. Good acidity, balance, and length. It shows an attractive, restrained elegance without the sweetness typical of many New World Chardonnays.
Note added later. We were surprised to find how much this wine changed with time. Some 6+ hours later, the wine had softened and developed more New World character with a degree of sweetness. It worked well, though, and I have not changed my score.
Be prepared for major changes in the wine after opening.
Good on its own and with oily fish (salmon). 89
