  • Wow - the last two of these have been kicking around in the cellar for a few years and we drank one tonight w/Mars on Steve’s rtn home from Dubai with Mom’s tomato sauce and my meatballs / sausage… expected this to be corked or totally flabbed out but it was our favorite of the night… still a delicate structure of tannins that I do not recall noticing in the past so something special happening wiith this now at the end.

  • This is a very beautiful bottle of Bordeaux.
Upon opening it was not that impressive and felt a little off. However aeration is sometimes a magic tool. In this case the air really helped this bottle to revitalize itself.

After five hours of slow-ox, it came out refined, posh and elevated. It was singing like a bird 🐦

A beautiful red colour that is semi-transparent and not really showing maturity yet.

A rich beautiful Bordeaux nose with a little bit of black olive brine and that beautiful mix of soils and red fruit that makes Bdx so irresistible. Difficult to remain with the nose because the wine insisted on kissing me.

In the mouth, it is so much better. You can faint! The beautiful tannic structure is a fantastic chapter all by itself. The rich aromas remain restrained, balanced and enticing throughout the bottle (90 min) and remain firm. Acidity is balanced for food. Long, complex, complete, restrained (redundant, I know, but a correct address), intense, elegant and pumping useful muscles.

Excellent winemaking in an exceptional vintage.

Far from an RP wine, this shines as a beautiful star on its early plateau. Will remain here for a long time, at least 10, possibly 30 years.

...and it's a bargain from: origin and quality. The quality level is easily on par with better Ch Canon and Figeac...

    WOW! 💪

  • Lovely transparent colour, ruby red/burgundy with slightly brown edge. Aromas of berries, quite a kontor fruit, maturity, wood/oak, some almond essence. Quite intense aromas.
Acidic at first-after 90 mins in decanter. Red berries, cigar, wood. After a while cigar-box and cedar but with some fruit, mainly red berries. Will benefit from an hour or two more in decanter.

  • beautiful purple-lavender color. mulled, spiced plums on the note. Pleasant but not incredible, with tasty umami on plums the dominate profile. Drink up!

  • Will always remember this bottle: X brand name hotel messed up on opening the bottle, offered me a bottle from their wine list, and I found out their very average wines are marked up 11x on average.
Medium musty ruby color with a tinge of garnet. Medium nose of faded red and black fruits with mushroom and slight barnyard notes. Dry, soft acidity, mellow tannins, palate follows through. Medium body. Great (smooth) balance. Medium finish. Nothing complex, although expected more for a 21yr old wine, but very good QPR nonetheless.
