  • Heater week; 3/8/2024-3/17/2024 (Chicago, IL): Definitely not my style. Maybe more interesting in 20 years as more global warming takes hold. Crunchy and perfumed red fruit (big post-modern vibes here) with a somewhat hollow palate. Not sure if that's just the terroir though, as this does have a greenness that I don't want in my pinot noir. Pleasant, but I'll take something from less of a backwater.

  • The nose is already way less tropical than the 2020. Flinty reduction, violets, berries. More reduction on the palate, not eggy but you only get a second with the fruit before the reduction takes over and it’s just graphite town. Tasty but I can’t tell if it’s the sort of reduction that will age out (or at least integrate more) so I don’t plan on buying any more.
