  • Intended to pull one of the “standard” bottles but oh well! Opened around 90 minutes before pouring and probably could have used much more time open.

Pretty, transparent light color in the glass. Shows lots of forest floor character on the nose with well integrated red fruit. Palate shows more cranberry fruit with structure that should keep this kicking for a long time yet. Now to dig up one of those “standard” bottles…

  • Diam 30.

This was good. Macerated strawberry, spice, and earth. Already 10 years old, the diam 30 will help the wine go another 5 no problem. These are ready to go with a short 1 hour decant. Definitely a crowd pleaser.

  • Decanted off sediment then back to bottle for 4h.

Gorgeous. Fallen leaves, cranberry, earth on the nose. Lovely palate with nice structure and mix of mushroom earth and red fruit. Finish shows nice complexity of terroir and fruit. Can appreciate the stem inclusion.

Drinking beautifully with air as the tannins resolve and settle in. No rush on these—primary notes just starting to meld together. 92

  • Opened, into decanter for 90 mins, and back to bottle. At opening, the nose was phenomenal — cherry, strawberry, a bit of savory notes. Palate was super tight and needed that 90 mins, but you could tell we were on a good path. Light ruby with bricking at the rim. Certainly does not show up as 10 years post-vintage.

After the wine opened in the glass, there is a beautiful bouquet of cherry, a bit of green, vegetal, savory notes and hints of vanilla. Beautiful mouth feel of red fruits, nice acidic backbone, and a long finish with well integrated tannins. This wine has at least 5 more years to run. An absolute delight.

  • Friend of mine opened a bottle of this I gave her a few weeks ago and noted it was quite brown and didn't have the fruit profile she expected so I've been curious to dig in. Our bottle last night looked younger (though had perhaps a little aging starting to show at the edges). It started fresh with some tart red fruit but definitely finished with some leather and mushroom like I'd expect from an older bottle. I don't dig those older/tertiary notes when too strong so I'll probably tear through the rest of these sooner vs later. Feels like some bottle variation based on these 2 bottles and the notes I'm reading.
