A pure Syrah wine, dark blackish purple with a slightly muted nose of rich black and blue fruits with controlled use of oak. The palate is rich, medium full-bodied, slightly but still very young and tannic at this juncture. Aside from the intense fruit and rich vanilla oak, I was not able to get much more out of this. I think another 5 - 7 years of additional cellar time will bring the best out of this massive wine. The fifth wine tasted at Herman Story’s tasting room in Paso Robles.

Nose has an intoxicating blend of dark red and black fruits with an enormous amount of bacon and ham. Great concentration, a velvety mouthfeel and a balanced finish with no real sign of the heat brewing underneath. Drank well now as a PnP, drink over the next 3-5 years.

Still a monster in the glass. Big, bold, powerful. Candied fruit and spice covered in rich bacon gravy.
