I had serious misgivings as I approached this wine, given its age, but I need not to have worried. Opened it and allowed it to stand in the fridge for an hour, before drinking it at a Turkish restaurant. Terrific nose of walnuts, honey, lychee nuts (?) and citrus. Considerable intensity on the palate but with equal amounts of grace and balance. Absolutely delicious at the end of the meal with baklava. Wish I had another bottle or two. Who says that Cali chards can't age gracefully?

Toasty, funky, and slightly musty at first. Powerful oak, but also a good core of fruit and nice buttery finish. Holding up pretty well but I don't see much future in holding this.

Dinner w/ the in-laws and a perfect choice. Has matured nicely and oak integrated albeit certainly there. Very nice rich buttery chard that was good w/ dinner and nice to sip before. Prior strange, bitter taste nowhere to be seen.

Very well integrated, nice and creamy but not overly oaked. Good fruit though still crisp. Went well with the salmon.
