This really exceeded all expectations. I know Kelley is an outstanding producer, but Gruner isn’t exactly a common grape for OR so I took a gamble on this, and won. Kelley has managed to create a really delicious wine that feels like great vin clair from champagne. Endless acidity, energy and tension, along with ripe notes of brûlée sugar, tropical fruit, and the faintest white pepper note to show off varietal character. This paired wonderfully with a dinner salad, but could go so much further too with food. Getting more of this one for sure.
Update: with air, this wine just gets better and better. Tons of floral aromatics emerged as the wine warmed, and I recommend drinking this around 60 degrees. Outstanding.

Consumed over 2 days. On the first day this was a little shrill, not a winemaking fault but just my antipathy toward GruVe. A day later and this had really settled down nicely: the grapefruit pith and touch of sweetness complemented each other rather than being at war. Score: 91. Relative to expectations: + but keep in mind I usually really dislike the variety so I am biased to the downside.

Very crisp; dry and refreshing. Well done. Used some for cooking. Good QPR.
