2nd of 2 bottles from recent auction purchase. Again, drinking very nicely, with lovely Cali Pinot character in a modestly complex presentation. Not gonna go too crazy over it, but I really enjoyed this before, with, and after dinner.

14.1% abv. Screw cap. 1st of 2 bottles from recent auction. This was drinking very nicely. Light to medium bodied with good cool weather Pinot character. Detailed with interesting and complex flavor profile. Never tried this in its youth - maybe it's fading a bit? - but there's not as much depth of fruit as I'd like to see, though still this was very good. Don't see why this won't hold for a lot longer - the upside of screw cap enclosures. Yet another screw capped 13+ year old Cali Pinot that I've enjoyed.

My prior bottle of this left an impression of a youthful wine with boldness. This bottle .... not so much. While it delivers precise flavors of cloves, licorice, allspice and vanilla/cherry-vanilla, the body is much leaner than the Durell or the Clos Pepe. It delivers little other than a short, lean mouthfeel with no real finish. The tannins are fully resolved. Drink now. As with many of Brian’s Pinots, however, this is rather linear. 14.1% alc. With duck cassoulet and the Schreibers and Fords. Recommended.

Wow! This here is a yuuuge wine! (Sorry; couldn’t resist). “Big and bold” are my first thoughts when the bouquet hit me. Loads of sweet black cherry, spicy cloves, vanilla and coca-cola. Cherry-vanilla and cloves hang as the finish drips away. The tannins seem very close to being resolved. The wine remains linear, however. No nuance here! 14.1% alc. With country ham, mustard and peppered cheese and blue cheese. Recommended.

Opened with lamb. Pours a light ruby. Lighter somewhat thin body that I suspect will flesh out. Classic Carg palate of raspberry and pomegranate. Somewhat muted nose. Holding ok, decent fruit but won't improve.
