  • three whites from Mendocino: yellow in the glass with some viscosity and a somewhat complex nose of subtle herbs, a mixture of flesh from different pears, and low-toned beeswax whiffs. dry, somewhat oily textured in the mouth and with an acidic backdrop; the pear flavours uncoil with some accents of fennel and nutmeg and gain intensity in the mid palate. all the notes converge on the relatively long finish.

a very good food wine that is well-balanced and elegant. i suspect this should age a bit and show even better (contain sulfites).

13.9% AbV (well-integrated); rather uncommon varietal from 100+ y.o. vines at Gibson Ranch in Mendocino; full malo and five months on lees; some fines/sediment in the bottle
