This has some reduction, but it seems from other peoples’ notes like maybe some bottles have more because it wasn’t like those Burgundy reduction monsters, and it shouldn’t be since people like PYCM are sulfuring generously and Tino Kuban not at all AFAIK.
On the nose elderflower, lime and flint. On the palate more of the same, quite flowery but the acidity is high making it not feel perfumey. Also green and yellow apples, and whiff of gunpowder. It is pretty charming and to me drinks better at 15 degrees than 8, and my references bounce from Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc to Chenin, but never Chardonnay which some Aligotés can carry a likeness to, if they are treated like Bourgogne with oak and batonnage probably. This has a typical texture and body of Aligoté, but not much of the peppery and herbal notes I think I often find.
A decent QPR and a tasty wine at about 36 EUR on allocation. Extremely poor value at several hundred euros from grey market/auction.

This wine did very little for me. The nose and palate are quite intense, but there is no real typicity to be found here, and the wine has quite a significant 'natural wine' feel. I can fully see the other commentor's reference to hay and gunpowder, but I'm not sure thats such a nice thing. Acidity is quite high, which makes me curious how this will be in a year or 5. For me not worth the hype/money.
Light in color, nose if impressive after its freshly opened. Smells of gunpowder, apple cider and hay. Nose opens up after some time and day 2 was not so strongly reductive. Palate is gorgeous, seamless, weightless delicious wine with a finely woven texture and a long stimulating finish. This is fine Aligote. I believe you can open these now or tuck them away 5-10 years easily.

Ethereal as an Aligoté.
Both delicate, racy and tense but weightless.
Lifted aromatics than range from lime blossom, acacia and white peppercorn. A natural wine inflection of yeast balanced by elegant minerals.
The palate is elegant and refined, but with cascading length and brush of light tannin.
Love this wine and the potential of the rest of his collection. Highly recommend if you can source.
