Dark ruby, ripe plum, cherry, fruity + oaky style, highly French oak influenced. intense spicy and dry herbal notes, liquorice, rich flavours, supple texture, m+/full body, fine tannins, solid acidity. Excellent on density, concentration and strength. Super young, hold for 5 years to wait all elements integrated, should be a great Marlborough PN!

I was somewhat sceptical given that Cloudy Bay has become an enormous brand, is this price justified. But I was very impressed. It’s very much a new world pinot. An abundance of fruit with real purity, heaps and heaps of cherry, strawberry, then hints of rhubarb and boysenberry. Nice tannic oak and vanilla coming through towards the end. Quite a lingering finish. Quite full bodied and almost jammy, not what I was expecting. Have a couple more, will be interesting to try again in a couple years

I’m not usually super into Pinots, but I liked this one.
