Burnished gold. Smoky, oxidative nose. Orange peel, dried herbs, almonds and hay. Expressive, textural palate with peach skin and a fair amount of grip. Long citrus and saline driven finish. Seriously good with great complexity. Would like to see how this ages, it certainly has some structure for it!

Greece tasting, TWS North London (Must and Lees, Islington): This superlative wine was voted Wine of the Night at our Greek tasting. It is named a white wine, but the skin contact on the intriguing mix of four grapes gives it a very rich golden hue. Beautiful to look at.
That translates into a rich, generous, complex nose with plenty of orange, salted almonds, butter, and something almost meaty I couldn't put my finger on. On the palate, there is stone fruit, orange, salted butter, cream, maybe something herby, and even some banana. The word that best captured the wine and its ending was 'sumptuous'. Simply, glorious drinking.
I think this also represents phenomenal value - this would stand up to some white burgundies at three or four times the price.

A high quality orange wine, but I wouldn’t rate it nearly as highly as some on the forum. Quite waxy with notes of wood, orange peel, some yellow apples and cork (though not a flaw). Quite moderate in most dimensions. Medium bodied, medium acidity, medium tannin, medium alcohol. Not extreme in any way. Very good, but not outstanding.

Mid straw. Herbaceous nose, like a patch of fresh nettles, perhaps with some lemon verbena, and some honey too. Bitter and tanically grippy on the palate, with a rounded, honeyed side to complement that, and an intense note of mandarin orange. It's distinctive, food-friendly and totally delicious.

Something odd here and very much oxidised and has no this to do with the wine we have tried last few times ( Papies 90-91) and we will put it down to a bad bottle rather than possible irregularities with this cuvée.
