Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • Oddly just a touch muted on the nose but that could because of the Nebbiolo. 50% new oak and for maybe 6 months in the barrique. Old plots of barbera with the oldest being from 1948. So this is all old vine Barbera. They produce less, and they do a green harvest. So Very different than the fresh Barbera.

Dark fruit on the nose, and some chocolate notes to it. Rich dark chocolate note to it. Erin notes wow, '21 vintage really showing through. Rich and expressive on the palate as well. And loads of structure but I am going to guess that is just the youthful phase showing off. Funny, the second smell really broadens it out into a raspberry rich character to it.

They used to green harvest more, but now, while they do green harvest, they aren't focused on making concentrated wine.

Interesting lavender spice comes out on the nose. And raspberry.
