Very sturdy with nose of black cherry and iodine. On the tongue, coffee and graphite and tart blueberries and strawberries. Excellent with rich food (prime rib with a stilton sauce) which brings the fruit forward. Sleepy now...

Bottle #2 of 6 from a Last Bottle purchase. We’re really enjoying the mature mountain fruit in this wine. The dark fruit leads the way, secondary notes of mint and graphite. The 2013 Cobblestone is a most worthy cellar defender!

Bold and heavy. Full-bodied, black fruits with coffee grounds, black cherry at the outset. Medium acidity and fair dry finish. Decanted for 90 mins. Could do with another couple of years in the cellar to soften some.

First review 60 minute decant Josephine No 2 glass
First pour before meal: Jammy octane on the nose - 14.9% is not hidden but fruits are there. This is a big wine. Not a smooth, nondescript bottle - comes on strong with tongue clicking dry finish. Quite heavy without food.
With dinner and after additional decanting while cooking: Held up excellently to a modified Steak Oscar. Enjoyed its strength much more throughout the meal, even after lighter asparagus or potato bites.
Overall: Good. Happy I have more bottles and looking forward to it sitting a few more years before uncorking the next one.
