Opened this far too early, but I’ve had nothing from the producer previously, and didn’t know if it’d be worth cellaring. Well, I should have know it’d be decent if given only the prestige of the vineyard.
Sourced from the famous Pisoni/Franscioni vineyard — one of my favorites from SLH and consistently quality.
The wine is clearly very young but the nose here is promising. Lovely spiced raspberry liqueur, cherry cola, cedar and pepper. Oak is somewhat prominent but that’s to be expected.
Palate is weighty but well made — sinewy tannin with bright high acid.
Overall — very tasty but more interested in potential here. I will love to see where this goes with a couple years.
