  • Eye: Pale salmon. Delicate mousse. The bubbles are slow moving and absolutely minuscule.

Nose: Strawberry jam. Cherry juice. Brioche. Lightly autolytic. Blood orange, light minerality.

Palate: Beautiful crisp acidity. Richly layered red fruits. Little hint of crème de cassis. Watermelon candy. Touch of brioche. Green apple, pomegranate. Faint rhubarb.

Finish: Lingering cherry tartness. More strawberry jam. Toast.

Overall: Some superb rose sparkling. The bubbles are the finest I’ve seen in any American sparkler. I’m glad I got a few bottles; I’m looking forward to revisiting this Wine with some more time.

  • 100% Pinot Noir; 5G/L dosage; 30 months en triage; only 1440 bottles produced

Good pop, some fizz continued to flow out somewhat unexpectedly after the pop. Color is a pale salmon. Beautiful, light nose of strawberry, peach, plum, salty beach (the strawberry seems to become a pleasant rose with some time). Palate is medium density, with light strawberry fruit, citrus/lemon, some salinity. The nose is wonderful, the palate a bit lacking in complexity. In a bit of a disappointing fashion, the bubbles dissipate from the glass in under 2 minutes. Perhaps Haliotide needs to work on this. Still, a lovely rose with a great nose. Will wait a while to open the next bottle.

Was decent paired with grilled salmon. However, it became very acidic in the glass, the extra air time did not help. The problem, per usual, is that when comparing against bottles of Champagne at the same price point, the QPR is not there. But still, I’m interested in supporting domestic sparkling so I’ll continue to purchase.

  • Nondescript berries on the nose.

Grapefruit, Strawberries and Cream, Cranberry, Peach. Bright and Vibrant on the palate with nice acidity. Good amount of minerality and yeast component.

Drank the 2nd half of the bottle a day later. Nose was a bit more open as I was able to pull some nice rose florals and cranberry. Palate remained pretty similar. I think this could use a few years

  • This is outstanding. Some tangerine, peach and melon to go with some nice yeasty notes. Man, I don’t need another expensive bottle of bubbles I need to auto-buy but here we are…
