  • Medium granate color. Cherry. Leather. Mint. Damp earth. Eucalyptus. Full body. Nice, high acidity (as expected) with a lovely long finish. A perfect summer vino that pairs nicely with tomato based dishes.

  • I am not sure where Total Wine gets 97, but darn this is fun. Dangerous, but fun. Initially the hype bubble gets popped, but then you are like, actually, this is kind of tasty. And then you get kind of mad because it drinks so well and so easily. And then you really get upset because you realize 1/2 the bottle is gone. Imagine average on its best day ever, that is this wine and vintage. Sorry, not sorry, will be seeking out more of this. Also, think this wine could be a good gateway wine for those who are vino-curious. Or the wine to help others realize red wine is more that Cabernet. This is the wine to do it. It is different, but not polarizing or unwelcoming. It is a good wine for people who are open to something different.

  • Picked this up at Total Wine in Cherry Hill NJ. In-store note says that Luca Maroni rated it a 97. That rating is EXTREMELY generous. It's fine, maybe even good, but not a 97. Slightly better than a base Ruffino Chianti.
