2005 Morey St. Denis and Chambolle Musigny (Vin Vino, Palo Alto): Medium color. Dark, somewhat tarry nose. Ooh, not a good first impression at all-lacking fruit, acidic, lean, and angular. It does pick up some more interesting earthy tones and adds weight, but still, I'm left thinking that this is dilute and underripe, with an unsatisfying feel and finish. I have not liked the 2 vintages of this wine that I've tried.

(Régis Bouvier Morey St. Denis En la Rue de Vergy) Red violet color; evocative dried cherry and black cherry nose; tasty, tangy, tart black cherry and spicy cherry palate, with good acidity, tight; medium-plus finish
