Splash decanted, then poured into Grassl 1855s and consumed over the course of an evening. Consistent with its youth, this showed somewhat tight and quite young, taking its time to unfurl. It improved over the course of the evening -- this definitely needs quite a bit of air at this point -- but it never quite felt cohesive. I won't open another of these for a couple of years, at least.
This was very promising, but just young. The nose showed deeply concentrated ripe blueberry with some bay leaf joining with air. The palate has lively acidity and grippy tannins at this stage. Great energy that makes you sit up straight and pay attention. I can see this aging into elegance as its components integrate.
