Good cocktail wine. Not sure I'd pair this with a meal. It's a fruit bomb that doesn't pretend to be something different. With that caveat, a reliable quaffer, especially if you are not too geeked out about Barbera as this doesn't taste anything like Barbera d'Alba & others from the old world.

Black fruit and burnt sugar nose with hints of leather and tar. Quite brisk in acidity in the mouth. Dense fruit with almost a sourness--like sour cherry. The lack of pleasure sipping this wine disappears when paired with acidic foods like penne al arrabiata where it absolutely shines. Amazing blend of American and Italian styles.

Before areating: cigarettes and harshness. Better after stating but awry and sour.

Nice wine, it was just missing that something extra that would push it to the next level. Kind of flat.

Yummy earthy structure with bright, crisp red and black cherry -- went perfectly on a warm night with pasta Bolognese!
